Our German Shepherd Dogs called "Heidi" dob: August 25, 2000 Bindi Marli, RE, RA, RN, CGC, TDI called "Bindi" dob: February 18, 2007 (Click on photo for a larger size. OR 06/19/10 Bindi and I showed today at the AKC Obedience Trials in Texarkana, AR. in Novice A class. We scored an 186 1/2 out of 200 points for a 2nd place and our 1st leg (qualifying score) in Novice A. We need 3 legs for the AKC title of CD (Companion Dog). This was the best heeling we have ever done in competition.
More Photos and Video from our June 19, 2010 show! 02/20/10 Bindi and I showed today at the AKC Obedience Trials in Camden, AR. in Novice A class. We failed to qualify. She was distracted during the heeling portion and just did not do what she could do. Oh well, there will be another day. 11/21/09 Yea! RE title!!!! Bindi and I showed today at the AKC Obedience Rally Trials in Excellent A. The show was sponsored by the D'Arbonne Kennel Club and was held in Ruston, LA. We scored a 86 out of 100 and received the 2nd place ribbon. This is our third leg (qualifying score) and our title in RE (Rally Excellent)!

08/22/09 Bindi and I showed today at the AKC Obedience Rally Trials in Excellent A. The show was sponsored by the Ouachita Valley Dog Training Club and was held in Ruston, LA. We scored a 97 out of 100 and received the 1st place ribbon. This is our second leg (qualifying score) in Rally Excellent! We need three legs for the AKC title of RE (Rally Excellent).

07/25/09 Bindi and I participated today in the AKC Obedience Rally Trial in Longview, TX. This was our first time in Rally Excellent A. We scored a 84 out of 100 points and a 1st place ribbon! This is our first leg in Rally Excellent! 07/04/09 Yea! RA title!!!! Bindi and I showed in our AKC Obedience Rally Trial in Rally Advanced A. We scored 91 out of 100 and a 4th place ribbon. This was our 3rd leg and thus our new title: RA Rally Advanced. This show was sponsored by our club, Red River Obedience Training Club, and held at the Bossier City Civic Center.

06/13/09 Bindi and I were in Texarkana, Ark. participating in Rally Advanced A class of the Obedience Trials. We scored a 81 for our 2nd qualifying score!

------ ------ ------ By the way, Bindi is developing into a great gardener. She has had this thing about dragging sticks and pieces of lumber up to form a border around her garden. She also has had this thing about tilling up the soil. But today she added sowing seeds to her adventures. Last night I had placed a sack of grass seed I had bought on the porch counter. This morning I found that sack in the back yard in about 20 pieces. The grass seed was sowed around in nice little piles. Bindi's paws were stained with the green fertilizer from the seed. If only she had tilled up the dirt and put the seed in the bare spots in the yard, my job would be done. You just can't hire good help in the garden! She then went and passed her CGC test. Go figure!

Check out the video of Teaching Fido to behave - It's Training Day 11/15/08 Bindi and I showed in the Rally Trials at Ruston in Advanced A. We scored a 94 out of 100 for a 2nd place ribbon and our first leg (qualifying score) in Rally Advanced! Our score tied with first place, but we were 2 seconds behind the winner. (That 2 seconds was my stops and deep breaths to calm me down!)

We did it! Our first title!!
07/05/08 Bindi and I participated in the Rally and Obedience Show in Bossier City. We again competed in Rally Novice A class. We had another qualifying score of 94 out of 100 getting a green ribbon. We placed 4th. We also competed in Pre-Novice Obedience scoring a 191 out of 200! It was a great time! Red River Obedience Training Club did a great job on the trials. Pre-Novice Obedience

Photos: June 2008 - First Obedience Trial 06/14/08 Bindi and I participated in the Rally Obedience Show in Texarkana today. We competed in Rally Novice A class. We had a qualifying score of 90 out of 100, green ribbon. We were 1st in our class, blue ribbon and blue towel. The qualifying score is the first "leg" of three "legs" needed for an AKC Rally Novice title. Video(Bindi - Front Sit)

04/08 Obedience Training Notes: Bindi and I are taking an Obedience Class at Red River Obedience Training Club in Shreveport during March and April. We are enjoying our instructors, Sherry and Jan, and all the other dogs and handlers. I hope to participate in my first Obedience Trial this summer. 11/07 Obedience Training Notes: Bindi and I are working on our own this month. We are not able to take a class this month due to my work schedule. – Been reading some good training books for more ideas. 10/07 Obedience Training Notes: Bindi and I are taking Beginning Obedience classes at Oak Grove Training Center. Paula is a good teacher. She is helping us polish our basic commands such as heeling and teaching us some more commands. 09/01/07 - - - We did it! We participated in the Monroe dog show! I accomplished my three goals! Two judges commented that Bindi has a wonderful temperament! That really excited me. While she may never come close to winning her class much less become a conformation show champion, I am really grateful for the experience of showing her in a conformation show. It was exciting and fun. It challenged us both to learn and grow. Bindi is a wonderful family pet with the potential to be a good working dog. I will continue to work with her to prepare for Rally and Obedience Trials. This is my passion. I truly enjoy obedience work. 
MORE Photos: September 2007 - Dog Show 08/07 Bindi is entered in the Dog Show in Monroe on August 31 and September 1. It will be fun and exciting just to participate. (I hope I am ready!). As a child, I dreamed of participating in a Dog Show. Now I can accomplish that dream.
