“Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.”
1 John 2:22
NASB ©
The false teachers, the antichrists, denied that Jesus was the Christ and denied that He was the Son of God. These Gnostics were false teachers who taught that Jesus was a mere man and that God’s Spirit only came upon Him at His baptism and left Him before He died. Even today, a number of people proclaim this heresy. These lies can be found in books and movies and taught by professors and so-called scholars. Those who proclaim these heresies are antichrists because they believe and teach things that are opposed to Jesus Christ the Lord.
Lord Jesus, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God! When opposed by many voices in our popular culture, help me to stand strong in the faith.
