Love for Other Believers

“This is how we know that we love God’s children when we love God and obey His commands.”
   1 John 5:2 HCSB ©

When one truly loves God and obeys His commands, one will love God’s children. One cannot say he loves God and yet hates or even ignores His children. One’s love for God must be demonstrated by love for other believers. Love for God is not just vocalized, but is acted upon. This love is a matter of the will and not emotions. It is a love that acts, seeking the best for others and doing right by them. The proof that one loves other believers is that one loves God and obeys His commands.

Lord Jesus, You have taught us to love You and others by Your actions. Help me to exhibit my love for You by doing to others what is right and compassionate.
