Precious Blood

“But with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.”
   1 Peter 1:19 NASB ©

Believers are redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the lamb of God. The Old Testament demanded that the lamb that was sacrificed had to be flawless, without any defect or defilement. Jesus was the perfect sacrificial lamb for He was morally pure and without sin. Jesus voluntarily laid down His life on the cross, shedding His costly and valuable blood. Through His death He paid the ultimate ransom price to redeem people from their bondage to sin. Those who trust in His sacrificial death are redeemed and cleansed from sin.

Lord, I know that nothing but the blood of Jesus can cleanse me from all my sin. Help me to proclaim to others how they too can be redeemed by the precious blood of the Lamb!
