God had commanded Abraham to go to the mountain to sacrifice Isaac. Abraham was obedient to God even though he did not understand why. On the mountain, God provided the Lamb in the place of Abraham’s son. God calls people to become obedient to His commands. God provided the sacrifice in Jesus, the Lamb of God. Jesus died on the cross as the sacrifice to pay for our sins.

Lord Jesus, I stand in awe of the great sacrifice you provided on Mount Calvary. Help me to be obedient by following Your commands.
