Paul had learned that the power to do whatever the Lord called on him to do came from Christ Jesus his Lord. Jesus gave him the strength to face life with all its trials. It was not Paul's strength but Jesus' strength.

Lord Jesus, I am thankful that You give me strength to live each day for You. Help me not to depend on myself, but always to depend on You.
