Two Good Resolutions

“I delight to do Thy will, O my God; Thy Law is within my heart.”
   Psalms 40:8 NASB ©

With the new year coming, do you want to make a change in your life? Do you want your life to be better this next year? The psalmist gives us two good resolution ideas in this verse. First, he resolved to do God’s will in his life. The desire of his life was to obey God. God’s Word teaches us that obedience is a key to a good life. Jesus stated, “If you love me, you will keep my commands.” Second, he resolved to fill his life with God’s Law, His Word. How do you get God’s Word into your heart? You must hear it, read it, study it, meditate on it, memorize it, and apply it to your life.

Lord Jesus, help me in this new year to fill my heart with Your Word, the Bible. Then help me to fill my life with the joy that comes by doing Your Will.
