Lord, Teach Me

“Teach me, O LORD, the way of Thy statutes, And I shall observe it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may observe Thy law, And keep it with all my heart.”
   Psalm 119:33-34 NASB ©

The Psalmist desires that the Lord would teach him His statutes in order that he could obey them with all of his heart. He wants to learn more and more of God’s commands. He has the drive to dig deep into God’s Word, the Bible. Thus, he will read, study, memorize, and meditate on God’s Word. While other people can help guide him, it is God’s Holy Spirit that will ultimately teach him, giving him insights, knowledge, and wisdom. With this understanding of God’s laws, he will then do what God has said.

Lord Jesus, I desire to learn as much of the Bible as I can. Teach me today from the Bible how you want me to act.
